Meet the Team

Jurassic Tree Services is owned and operated by expert tree surgeon, Jacob Mummary and his wife, Rose. Jurassic Tree Services keeps a family-run business ethos but with the resources to service larger scale projects covering all of Devon including Exeter, Torquay and further afield. Jacob’s team also includes Jeff Folton and David Speakman, all boasting years of tree surgery experience and NPTC certified.

Jacob entered the tree care industry in 1996 working for a North Devon tree surgeon. He gained his NPTC in 1998 and subsequently went to work in line clearance for SWEB (now Western Power Distribution). His years of experience include working for Exmoor National Park and freelancing for numerous companies and private residences in Devon. After moving to Exmouth and realising there was a niche in the market for a personal touch, Jacob started the Jurassic Tree Services in 2012. Today, Jurassic Tree Services has grown to be a trusted name in Devon tree services and Jacob has become the Tree Surgeon of choice for many happy clients.

Superior tools and equipment

We provide tree surgery with fully equipped, professional up-to-date equipment, including a large truck with a high-performance chipper.

Environmental policy

We minimise the impact of our work on the environment and wildlife by using modern equipment and techniques to cut down on fuel consumption. We also service all machinery and equipment at specified intervals to optimise fuel efficiency. We use biodegradable vegetable chain oil and fully synthetic 2 stroke oil.

All waste is recycled; the hard wood is used for logs or milled into other wooden products. Brash is chipped for mulch which can be used around flower beds or used as cost effective biodegradable paths. The waste that cannot go through the chipper is composted.

Wildlife policy

We are passionate about wildlife and the environment! Before commencing work we check for bats, owls, birds or any other protected and endangered animals.

Health and Safety

All employees hold relevant NPTC certificates and experience. Method statements and risk assessments are carried out prior to work commencing. Copies of these are provided upon request. All equipment, ropes, machinery etc. are inspected regularly with ongoing training of all staff to keep up to date with the latest techniques.

Planning consent

We can apply for planning consent to work on trees with TPO’s (Tree Preservation Orders) and in conservation areas.
